Dr. D's Prescription for Tennessee
1. Reduce the size of government, end corporate bailouts and stop runaway spending to create jobs in Middle Tennessee. Scott believes government is too big, spends too much money, and meddles too much in our free market economy. Scott opposes corporate bailouts, wasteful government spending, and onerous government regulations that burden small businesses. 2. Decrease the tax burden and eliminate the death tax so small businesses and farms can grow. Scott believes Tennesseans are taxed too much already. As our next Congressman, Scott will oppose any and all efforts to raise federal taxes, fighting to stop higher income taxes, higher taxes on small businesses and family farms and new taxes on health insurance. This is the only way to ensure generational success for small businesses and farms. Scott will stand up against any legislation that punishes hard work and ingenuity in this country. 3. Bring common sense and real expertise to the health care crisis to protect our families, especially our seniors. As a physician, Scott has seen first hand the importance of an efficient, well run health care system, as well as the destructive consequences of unnecessary government meddling. 4. Increase our national security and protect benefits for our veterans. Scott supports a strong military and stands behind our troops as they selflessly fight to protect our country in the Global War on Terror. Scott is also a staunch advocate for veterans benefits. Having trained and worked in the Veterans Hospital System and treated veterans in Tennessee for almost two decades, he knows first hand how important it is that America deliver on its promise of benefits to the men and women who bravely wore our country's uniform. No one deserves more from our country than those who have put their lives on the line defending our freedom. 5. Protect our traditional Tennessee values. Scott is pro-gun, pro-life and pro-marriage and PROUD OF IT. 6. Impose term limits in the House and Senate. Scott believes the founding fathers did not intend for Congress to be a final landing place for career politicians. Being chosen to represent the American people in Washington is an honor. Serving as a member of the House of Representatives should only be about working for constituents according to the Constitution of the United States and not about fulfilling personal and political agendas. 7. Stop Illegal Immigration Scott does not support amnesty. Dr. D's plan for illegal immigrants is a one way ticket out of the United States.
