About Dr. Scott DesJarlais
Scott is no stranger to hard work. His father Joe, was a barber and his mother Sylvia, was a registered nurse for over 44 years at
Scott’s first job was as the shoeshine boy in his dad’s barbershop, making twenty-five cents per shine. He also worked at a local car dealership's service shop, returning to that job each summer during college to earn money to pay for his education.

Scott has been practicing medicine in Tennessee for almost two decades, seeing patients at the Grand View Medical Center in Jasper. Over the course of the past year, he noticed that conversations were changing from talk about hunting, fishing and grandchildren to politics and anger over a government that was firmly on the path towards Socialism. Frustrated by the current state of leadership in this country and determined to make things better for his three young children, Scott decided to enter the race for Congress in the Fourth District of Tennessee. Scott is running for Congress to bring common sense, conservative values to Washington. As a physician, he has seen first hand the importance of an efficient, well run health care system, as well as the destructive consequences of unnecessary government meddling. As the next Congressman for Tennessee's Fourth District, Scott will fight to repeal the Obama health care plan, work to eliminate wasteful government spending and stop corporate bailouts. Scott is Pro-Life, Pro-Gun, Pro-Marriage and proud of it! Scott and his wife Amy, have three children: Tyler, Ryan and their little sister Maggie.
