Jasper, TN – Dr. Scott DesJarlais’ congressional campaign today announced that the National Rifle Association (NRA) has endorsed Scott DesJarlais for U.S. House of Representatives for Tennessee’s 4th District in the August 2nd Republican primary election.
“Scott DesJarlais truly understands the sanctity of the Second Amendment as enshrined in our Bill of Rights, and since his election to Congress in 2010, has demonstrated that conviction. We encourage everyone in Tennessee’s 4th District to vote Scott DesJarlais for U.S. House of Representatives in the August 2nd primary election,” said Chris Cox, Executive Director for the NRA’s Institute for Legislative Action.
Congressman DesJarlais stated, “As an avid sportsman and constitutionalist, I believe strongly in the citizenry’s right to bear arms. We must guard these rights from those who fail to understand our nation’s heritage and would legislate or regulate in such a way as to prevent individuals from protecting themselves, their family and their property. I’m proud to receive this endorsement from the NRA and thank them for their ongoing efforts in defending our second amendment rights.”
